FS#1474 - [pet battles] Player gets no XP from pet battles
Pet battles against wild pets and pet trainers (even outside of quests) should give player XP. I haven't tried pet trainers yet, but battles against wild pets currently don't give any player XP. I did a bit of research through various online sources, and I also did a bit of testing on a decently scripted private MoP server to see how much XP should be awarded and how others have implemented it. For more information, please see the attached document and pictures.

That isn't true, you can ask it to any IA and neither in mop player get xp for battlepets combats, only the battlepet and sometimes a extra xp for player if it's a battlepet quest. So if you dont get a true info link which shows that is the way it worked. I'm not going to implement it. Regards.
IA answer:
World of Warcraft: Legion
Player XP: Pet battles do not grant meaningful experience to your character.
Exceptions: Some pet-related World Quests or missions may reward a bit of XP, but it’s minimal and not intended for leveling.
Pet XP: Your battle pets do gain experience and level up by winning fights.
World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria
Player XP: Pet battles do not give XP to your character.
Exceptions: Certain quests involving pet tamers can reward character XP, but again, it’s from the quest—not the battle itself.
Pet XP: Battle pets gain XP normally and can level up through combat.
Quick summary
✔️ Pets gain XP in both expansions
❌ Players don’t get XP from pet battles themselves
⚠️ Only small amounts of player XP from specific quests (not a viable leveling method)
I did provide my Google AI response to that same question where it claimed wild pet battles are supposed to give player XP (see screenshot Pet_battle_XP_Google_AI.png). I did another search with slightly different question to make sure I was getting results for the original Legion WoW and it came back with basically the same info, and claimed also that player XP from pet battles was removed in some later expansion (after 8.1) - see the image attached to this comment.
And here's also wowhead link to pet AND player lvling via pet battles against "critters" aka wild pets:

I also personally played the original Legion WoW on retail and remember getting player XP from wild pet battles, I just don't remember specifics because it was a long time ago.
So my point is not invalid.

Actually, here's probably the best proof I can provide for player XP from wild pet battles:

That video was taken in MoP, but as the description says, it still worked in Legion, too.
Ok I will check it for fixing it that way. Thanks you for the information ;)
